Hydraulic lifts are the systems which the ability of drive is provided by hydraulic pump unit. Hydraulic elevator systems lift a car using a hydraulic ram, a fluid-driven piston mounted inside a cylinder. The pump forces fluid from the tank into a pipe leading to the cylinder. Downward movement actualizes with the car own weight. In general machine room is located in the ground floor. In machine room there is a oil tank (fluid reservoir) and hydraulic system on this tank, control panel and pipes. In the lift pit there are; cabin, counterweight (if there is), cylinder piston system, suspension device and buffers.

Application where a strong push or pull force is required. They initially found numerous uses during the industrial revolution, when the increase of factories and production required multiple hydraulic applications. Now, hydraulic cylinders are utilised in equipment across a wide range of industries – including construction, manufacture, mining and offshore industries.
